About…
Martin Fowkes is a seasoned photographer of African wildlife. He also organises and leads safaris to Kenya, where he has been privileged to work with some of the country’s top guides in the Masai Mara. As a result, he has learned about the habitats and nature of his subjects in depth and has been able to get ‘ up close and personal’ with some of the most fascinating animals on the planet.
Martin has been interested in photography all his life. He has qualifications in a number of disciplines, but his favourite area has always been wildlife photography. Martin firmly believes that the power and reach of photography is an important tool in promoting the plight of endangered species and the magnificent, but often fragile environments in which they live.
Martin supports organisations such as ‘Save the Rhino’ and the ‘Born Free Foundation’. He also works with ‘Lion Aid’ and has donated images which have been widely used by them for publicity purposes and to raise funds for their invaluable work.
